Black History Month will be observed during February at Booker T. Washington monument, east of Rocky Mount. This year’s theme is Afro-Americans and the United States Constitution. The park visitor center will have a month-long exhibit focusing on Blacks and the Constitution and National Park Service areas commemorating black history.
A film festival highlighting National Park Services areas involved with black history will be held Saturday, February 12 and Sunday, February 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days.
