Step 1: Book the Room
Before anything else, you'll want to set up your Digital Video Lab appointment.
Please be aware that when you book the Digital Video Lab, you are reserving time only for shooting video. Editing the video requires a separate appointment process!
You'll want to reserve 1-hour appointments for every 5 minutes of video you plan to shoot.
From here, you can reserve the room one of two ways: you can reserve a spot on the calendar or you can scan this QR code with your camera phone.
Step 2 : Before Your Appointment
Before you arrive for your appointment, you'll want to prepare the following things:
- Your script - Plan what you'll say, what you'll do, how many separate videos you need to make.
- Your props - Costumes and props make videos more fun.
- Background photos and videos - This page can help you find downloadable videos and photos that you are legally allowed to use.
- A way to save your videos - The video files will be quite large. We recommend uploading to your campus Google Drive account.
We have a dedicated camera and other equipment for you. Remember: don't wear green (unless you want to be a floating head!)
